February 20: Aluminum Billet Inventory Continues to Hit New Highs, Market Trading Progress Remains Sluggish [Daily Review of Spot Aluminum Billets]

The aluminum billet inventory in major domestic consumption areas reached 315,300 mt, an increase of 8,300 mt compared to Monday, with the inventory inflection point yet to be officially formed. SHFE aluminum continued its strong performance, while aluminum billet processing fees came under pressure and declined. On the supply side, active quotations for shipments were observed, while downstream buyers remained cautious, purchasing only as needed. Market transactions were relatively weak, and the processing fees for aluminum billets in the three regions showed an unfavorable trend. Today, the Foshan aluminum billet market reported 120/170 yuan/mt, down by 20 yuan/mt; the Wuxi market processing fees were reported at 130/180 yuan/mt, down by 20 yuan/mt; and the Nanchang region processing fees were reported at 90/140 yuan/mt, down by 60 yuan/mt. On February 20, SMM A00 aluminum was quoted at 20,690 yuan/mt, up 90 yuan/mt, with a discount of 60 yuan/mt against the March contract, down 0 yuan/mt. SMM A00 aluminum (Foshan) was quoted at 20,680 yuan/mt, up 90 yuan/mt, with a discount of 70 yuan/mt against the current month, flat. (Unit: yuan/mt)
